Vegetables are a healthy food and a great source of nutrients. But do you know how to get the most out of the vegetables you are eating? Let’s talk about some facts that can help you.

Heat can destroy important nutrients. The more heat that is used, more nutrients are destroyed. There are different vitamins and enzymes found in fruits and vegetables and they are destroyed at different temperatures. When you use less heat, you destroy some of the nutrients but you still alter the perfect ratio that allows the human body to maximize the use of the fruits and vegetables. Enzymes are needed to break foods down for digestion. They are also very heat sensitive which leaves them vulnerable to temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. When the enzymes from the food are gone the body has to use its own which takes energy from healing processes.
